Guam - A man who was seen on surveillance footage breaking into the Paradise Fitness Center in Tumon is now facing attempted murder charges.
A magistrate complaint says 23-year-old Daniel Aquino Quinata was caught on surveillance footage and when police arrived on scene around 4:30 Monday morning they encountered Quinata who refused to comply with police.
At one point, the report says Quinata attempted to run over a cop with his Mitsubishi Montero. A high speed chase ensued throughout Guam which police say ended in a grassy area near a jungle. Police say they had to use force in order to get Quinata to comply and give up his hands to be placed in handcuffs.
As he was being escorted into a GPD cruiser, police say Quinata then threw himself on top of a police officer causing the officer to fall backwards and fracture his knee.
Quinata is charged with felony attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault and assault on a police officer, all with special deadly weapons allegations and felony on release.
