Man tries to run cop over after he was caught on CCTV breaking and entering

According to police, Daniel Quinata was seen on surveillance footage breaking into Paradise Fitness Center in Tumon.

Guam - A man who was seen on surveillance footage breaking into the Paradise Fitness Center in Tumon is now facing attempted murder charges.

A magistrate complaint says 23-year-old Daniel Aquino Quinata was caught on surveillance footage and when police arrived on scene around 4:30 Monday morning they encountered Quinata who refused to comply with police.

At one point, the report says Quinata attempted to run over a cop with his Mitsubishi Montero. A high speed chase ensued throughout Guam which police say ended in a grassy area near a jungle. Police say they had to use force in order to get Quinata to comply and give up his hands to be placed in handcuffs.

As he was being escorted into a GPD cruiser, police say Quinata then threw himself on top of a police officer causing the officer to fall backwards and fracture his knee.

Quinata is charged with felony attempted murder, attempted aggravated assault and assault on a police officer, all with special deadly weapons allegations and felony on release.
